Town of Kostolac is situated in the northeastern part of Serbia, right on the peak of the nearby hills, east of the
river Velika
Morava. It merges fertile river banks of Danube, Morava and Stig.
Outskirts of the town are located right along the right banks of Danube river and on the banks of Dunavac river.
In the near vicinity of Kostolac are a couple of "satellite" villages: Ostrovo, Petka, Klenovnik, Stari Kostolac, Drmno
and
Cirkovac. In the broad picture of Kostolac we mention these geographical entities: Branicevo, Stig, Zvizd, Homolje
etc.
The biggest town in the vicinity is Pozarevac (11km), while Belgrade, capital of Republic of Serbia is 90km away from
it.
So it's possible to go from Belgrade to Pozarevac by bus and then take another bus or a taxi to Kostolac.
In Kostolac is the archaeological site of Viminacium, a former Roman outpost with wide streets, luxurious villas,
extensive baths
and an amphitheater, just recently opened to the public.
There is 5 different routes to take, when you're coming to Pozarevac by car: Belgrade, Veliko Gradiste, Petrovac na
Mlavi,
Kucevo, Kostolac i Svilajnac.
From Belgrade (west side) you should use Beograd - Nis highway (A1 or E-75). After some 65 km,
exclude from the highway and follow the sings for Pozarevac (about 17km from the highway). Before Požarevac, there is
left turn
for Kostolac.
From Veliko Gradiste (northeastern side) you are to follow road 34 witch is a state road of 1A order. After 32km past
Veliko
Gradiste, on your left side there will
be a crossroads witch leads to the square of Pozarevac.
From Petrovac na Mlavi (southeastern part) you are to follow a 2A order road (161) afterwards it conjoins the 33 road
all the way
up to a big crossroad witch when you turn right will lead to
Pozarevac. This road goes over the hill of Sopot to the towns center.

Why Tribe Trails and Tribal paths?
Running is one of the activities that brought us all together again and propelled us to spend more
time
outside the city, where we are
burdened by a shortage of time and by a limited urban environment. These are the main reasons behind the
desire to start this project.
We all know that contact with nature and the complete freedom of movement cannot be measured with
the urban jungle of asphalt.
Every time you have new conditions, new details, new experiences, new emotions. Running is a way of
life and has the power to change lives
for the better.
In these races, we will celebrate life, movement, friendship and explore vast and wonderful
landscapes of
our country, and thus contribute to
the racing community, and beyond, to get people to know each other and generously share their
experiences, passion, and love.
We are team of volunteers with 18 years of
experience in outdoor activities such as running, climbing, slackline, hiking, longboarding, skiing, snowboarding, rope jumping...
Our vision and mission is to promote outdoor recreation and stay in
nature , as well as the ethical relationship to nature and its beauty.
